About the Role

Reporting into the Senior AP Governance Officer, the primary responsibility of the EDI Technician is to engage with external suppliers and their EDI providers to efficiently and effectively implement a successful EDI connection between the supplier and the respective entity within THG Beauty. This is a key role to increase automation and reduce manual invoice processing, saving time and money for both parties.

The EDI Technician will be a subject matter expert for EDI and, will execute the process in line with the EDI onboarding process, and will be responsible for the ongoing account management of each EDI supplier.

Responsibility is to manage the flow of work through effective LEAN techniques, observing all key business controls to ensure all work completed under the remit is ‘right first time’.

The EDI Technician identifies poor processes suggesting workable solutions and escalates any business critical issues to the Senior AP Governance Officer.

Responsibilities:

Performance Delivery

  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with external Suppliers and EDI partners
  • Obtain agreement to the technical requirements with the supplier EDI provider
  • Collaborate with suppliers to gather initial data required to create a ‘test’ environment, linked to supplier’s test environment.
  • Create TEST documents
  • Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions, identifying and resolving any errors or discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure a smooth flow of information.
  • Work closely with external and internal stakeholders
  • Follow the EDI onboarding process
  • Track progress effectively to achieve agreed Go Live date
  • Deliver ongoing account management for each onboarded EDI supplier
  • Support any crossover with EDI Customers in our Order to Cash Department

Process Management and Improvement

  • In liaison with the Senior AP Governance Officer identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives
  • Run Monthly EDI Meeting with key stakeholders
  • Continually evaluates EDI processes ensuring training material is produced
  • Keep abreast of latest developments and legislation which will affect policies/processes in the relevant process area
  • Provide Reporting on Performance vs Target for EDI

Requirements:

  • Ability to oversee full end-to-end EDI Supplier process
  • Experience working with EDI partners and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of EDI technical process and a history of onboarding businesses via EDI
  • Office IT literate, preferably with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience of working in a Shared Service centre or similar working environment
  • Sage or any other ERP systems knowledge
  • Track of high performing standards
  • Track of high standards Customer Service

Qualification (one or more of the following):

  • Qualified by Experience
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Fluent in English verbal and written
  • One or more relevant European Languages an advantage
