CEO of THG Beauty

Lucy first joined THG in 2012 on a 12-month placement during her degree. She returned in 2013 as a graduate in our Beauty division and spent the next few years becoming an expert in ecommerce and developing her leadership skills.

In 2018, just 5-years after joining THG, Lucy was given the exciting opportunity to become CEO of THG Nutrition. Between 2018 and 2022, she rebranded Myprotein, launched Myvegan, Myvitamins, MP Activewear, and navigated a global pandemic.

Last September, Lucy’s career turned full circle as she took on her biggest challenge yet – CEO of THG Beauty. From joining as an intern in 2012 to leading a global team of nearly 2,000 people, Lucy’s career journey is nothing short of incredible.

Lucy’s story is not only a testament to THG’s meritocratic culture, but Lucy’s hard work, ambition, and resilience too. We’re very lucky to have female leaders like Lucy at THG.

Robin

Accessibility Specialist

Since joining THG last year, Robin has been on a mission to raise awareness of accessibility and disability inclusion in the workplace. As a member of THG's Accessibility team, Robin works closely with our designers and developers and supports them to create features and products for everyone. He assesses our sites and applications against guidelines, identifies areas for improvement, and develops solutions that improve the end-user experience for all.

Robin also leads our Disability Confident Network, a place for our people to learn about disabilities and disability inclusion. The network share guides and resources and aim to drive positive change for our people, our culture, and our business.
 

We asked Robin his top 3 tips for people at the beginning of their accessibility journey.

“(1) Make sure any information you are sharing, regardless of format, can be understood by people with varying sensory capabilities. For example, add alternative text to images, include captions in videos, and review colour contrast guidelines when designing a website. These small changes make a huge difference.

(2) The most common form of disability is cognitive disability, so present your content in the simplest way possible. The less complexity, the easier it is to understand, regardless of whether someone has a disability or not.

(3) Never assume someone does or doesn't have a disability based on your perception of them. Lots of people have disabilities, visible and hidden, and accessibility is often the difference between full participation and exclusion”.

Ishrat

Group Medical Director

Before joining THG, Dr Ishrat worked for the NHS, supporting and supervising students and doctors in training. She has experience in general practice, mental health, and women's health, and has completed a diploma in Women's Health (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) as well as a PGCert in medical education and leadership.

Dr Ishrat is also a perinatal GP champion which means she offers specialist support to people who are struggling with their mental health for the first time and people who have seen their existing mental health problems exacerbated by pregnancy or parenthood. Working across Greater Manchester, she delivers education and training sessions to improve knowledge and understanding of mental health and provides free access to face-to-face support.

Since joining, Dr Ishrat has been providing GP clinics both face-to-face and remotely for all THG employees and has introduced a new electronic prescription service so that employees can have prescriptions delivered directly to their door. She's also carried out wellbeing talks including a talk about Breast Cancer Awareness in partnership with CoppaFeel!
 

We asked Dr Ishrat to summarise her plans for 2023 at THG.

"I've got lots of plans for 2023, but my main priorities revolve around starting a Parents Network for people who have children and people who are pregnant and improving awareness and understanding of mental health. I want people to feel comfortable talking about their conditions and want to remove the stigma around mental health, particularly men's mental health.

As a female GP, I would also like to improve the management of women's health and provide quality advice through my expertise in this field".

Mike

Executive Creative Director

Mike joined THG as a midweight designer and progressed into creative management on Myprotein, THG Group, and our Ingenuity accounts.

Mike then moved into the role of Operations Director to manage our global studios base in 5 countries. During this time, he designed the new ICON studio space, working with key stakeholders across the Group to deliver what he describes as one of the most challenging but rewarding projects of his career.

Mike is now our Executive Creative Director, overseeing 100+ active accounts and responsible for the creative output of the whole business.
 

We asked Mike what advice he would give to someone starting their career in THG Studios.

"Keep learning, work with new people as much as possible, and soak it all up. We have so many talented creatives in the business, it's impossible to not be inspired.

Don't be scared to fail and don't compare yourself to every other creative. Enjoy the process of figuring out your own path".

Jo

Chief Information Officer

Jo has been an integral part of our technology division since joining THG in 2018. Over the past 5 years, she’s delivered several transformational projects for the Group, introduced innovative solutions, and built a team of over 200 people globally.

Before starting her career in tech, Jo had her sights on a sports career, but an injury meant that she had to change direction and rethink her future. She reluctantly accepted a job on a service desk and in that role, discovered how much she loved problem solving and speaking to customers. She says, “every call was a challenge, but I couldn’t wait to solve the problem and give the customer a wonderful experience without bamboozling them with tech jargon. I just wanted to keep going and fix bigger and bigger problems”.

20 years later, Jo has worked in a variety of roles, industries, and organisations including Diageo, Accenture, Yahoo, BBC, and Betfair. She’s brought an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to THG’s technology division.

Last year, Jo was announced as the number 1 CIO in the UK in the CIO 100 Awards, reinforcing what everyone at THG already knew; that Jo is an accomplished, disruptive, and incredible technology professional.
 

We asked Jo to share the best piece of advice she’s been given during her career.

“Interestingly, the best advice I have been given is advice I haven’t taken. I was advised to ‘fit in’ and stop being so friendly. I don’t agree with the notion of being ‘too friendly’.

That advice made me understand the kind of leader I want to be and that is friendly, approachable, and supportive. When I realised that, I started to become my authentic self and develop a leadership style that represented me. It was a very defining moment in my career.”

Callum

Business Development Director

Callum's day-to-day involves working with clients and supporting them to execute their D2C ambitions using THG's infrastructure, technology, and services.

Before life at THG, Callum was a professional athlete, winning gold and silver medals at the 2016 Olympics for Team GB. Now, Callum leads our Business Development Fashion & Apparel team (North America & Europe) for THG Ingenuity, working with a variety of clients and bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
 

We asked Callum what advice he would give to people joining THG:

"Soak up as much as you can. Even within my division, it's impossible to know everything, so listen, ask questions, and get under the skin of this exciting organisation".
