How Online Career Coaching is Furthering our L&D Offering

70% of those who receive coaching see an improvement in work performance, relationships, and communication skills but it’s reported that only 5% of people receive coaching during their career.

As an L&D team, we've been delivering 121 coaching as part of our offering but recognised the opportunity to reach a larger percentage of our people to ensure we’re driving performance, improving productivity, and providing a development opportunity like no other. Not only that, but it’s a fantastic message to send to all our new starters; access to personal career coaching from day 1! It's an excellent perk and development opportunity that they can take with them throughout their career here at THG.

 

So, how does it work?

We've partnered with Bloom, a virtual career coaching app, to enable all our people to receive personal or career coaching anytime, anywhere.

Based on your personal goals, Bloom will serve you daily exercises and 121 coaching check-ins - just five minutes a day to help drive the development of our people. It’s an ideal activity for daily commutes or lunchtime scrolls.

We’ve invested heavily in our Learning and Development team over the last 12 months and it’s one of the real perks of coming to work at THG, evidenced by feedback in our recent engagement survey.

Our goal here is to ensure new, future and current leaders are set up for success, so we empower our leaders through three programs with topics that focus on communicating your why, defining objectives, adaptable leadership, feedback culture and thriving under pressure to name a few.
