Role: Senior NPD Technologist - THG Nutrition / Myprotein

Reporting to: NPD Manager  

Job Location: THG HQ (WA15 0AF) Manchester - Office based

 

The Senior NPD Technologist is responsible for driving innovation for new and existing products across the Asia & Australia category. The role will involve building out one of the most expansive supplement ranges globally, across key categories such as wellness and performance. Working alongside key suppliers, the role will involve gathering insights to drive this product's development.

The role will then involve project managing these supplements alongside key stakeholders internally, through procurement, compliance, brand and creative teams. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and consolidate market research and consumer insights.
  • Develop new products and improve existing ones based on consumer insights and approved claims.
  • Manage projects efficiently, coordinating with procurement, compliance, brand, and creative teams.
  • Brief suppliers on new ingredients while considering technical, operational, and commercial constraints.
  • Support teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Approve packaging and ensure product compliance.
  • Research and report on current market trends.

Requirements:

  • Manage a team of 2 direct reports.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and Excel proficiency; effective presentation skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinking.
  • Proactive and critical approach.
  • Degree in Nutrition/Food Technology or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in New Product Development (NPD).
  • Understanding of NPD processes from concept to launch.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in fitness, supplements, and health & wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance.
