Myprotein, Europe’s No.1 Online Sports Nutrition Brand, recently took part in Soccer 24 – an inspiring football marathon to raise vital funds for Street Soccer Academy. The Soccer 24 challenge is a gruelling event, both physically and mentally and involves 24 individual 1-hour football matches against 24 different, completely fresh teams!
Street Soccer Academy uses football as the initial touch point to help rehabilitate young, vulnerable and homeless individuals back into the workplace and society. The monies raised each year help to provide these people with the basic necessities to get their lives back on track, including a clean football kit, training, food and importantly a team environment. The rehabilitation results are hugely impressive.
The Hut Group and Myprotein undertake a broad range of initiatives to help the local community, not least our NVQ apprentice scheme which employs & trains 130 local young school leavers. Going a step further and helping less fortunate, young people who need some guidance to get back on track is a cause close to our heart. Both Myprotein and Street Soccer Academy have a shared belief in FUELLING YOUR AMBITION.
The event was a record-breaking success on and off the pitch, a herculean effort saw Myprotein FC winning all of their individual games, including a hard-fought opening game win against AO.com, whilst working closely with Soccer24 staff and partners to help raise over £30,000 for the charity, in its biggest ever fundraiser.
CEO Andy Duckworth commented “Myprotein are proud to have contributed to such an important event and were commended for the conduct and approach of the team in helping to secure the funds, for such a meaningful, real cause. I’d like to thank all Myprotein suppliers and The Hut Group contacts who generously donated.”
