With her ambition to work in the sports marketing industry, Kaedin is embracing new challenges and opportunities at THG, from supporting global campaigns to becoming Deputy Lead of our Early Careers Wellbeing Ambassador Network. Read on to discover how her Marketing internship at Myprotein has enabled her to get involved in key marketing projects and gain hands-on industry experience.

Starting an internship is always an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience, especially when joining a global company like THG. I initially joined the Brand and Campaigns team for my first six-month rotation before moving to my current role in the Packaging Creative team. Over the past several months, I have gained invaluable experience, taken on significant responsibilities, and grown both professionally and personally.

From the outset, THG stood out to me because of its global presence and dynamic work environment. As someone passionate about sports marketing, the opportunity to work across Myprotein, MP Activewear, and Myvitamins was particularly exciting. THG’s fast-paced and innovative nature meant that I would not only gain hands-on experience but also be trusted with meaningful responsibilities - something that many interns don’t always get the chance to do. I knew this was a place where I could develop my skills, expand my knowledge, and truly make an impact.

My Background and Career Aspirations

I am currently pursuing a degree in Business Management with Marketing at the University of Birmingham. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in marketing, but it is my identity as a student-athlete that has shaped my work ethic and ambition. Having represented the England Netball Roses Academy from 2019 to 2022 and currently competing in the National Premier League with Trafford Netball Club, I have always been driven by high-performance environments. My time at THG Nutrition has reinforced my desire to pursue a career in sports marketing, combining my passion for sport and fitness with my increasing knowledge in branding and marketing.

Throughout my internship, I have been fortunate to work on a variety of projects that have both challenged and inspired me. Some of the key projects I’ve worked on include:

Global Brand Marketing Playbook: I took full ownership of the THG Nutrition marketing playbook, including key messaging, monthly brand calendar, best practices, key product focuses to ensure optimised campaign execution across multiple markets.

Monthly Packaging Shoots: I took full ownership of the monthly packaging shoot process—from pre-production planning to post-production execution. This involved working on UK, US, and EU products, allowing me to gain insights into different market needs and creative strategies.

MP Activewear Lifestyle & Outerwear Campaign: I was actively involved in creating assets and email templates for MP Activewear’s lifestyle and outerwear campaign, contributing to the brand’s overall visual identity and marketing strategy.

BAU Rollout: Worked with Oakley on the Myprotein BAU rollout, working on the site sweep, asset matrix, and execution to ensure a seamless transition and consistency across platforms.

Global Campaigns Support: Supported on the Impact Week 2, Cyber, Gifting and Q1 campaigns for Myprotein.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating the restructuring within the Brand and Campaigns team due to adapting to a new team dynamic whilst continuing to optimise processes. However, by staying proactive and embracing change, I was able to make a smooth transition and contribute effectively to my new team.

Community and Networking at THG

Beyond my day-to-day responsibilities, I have had numerous opportunities to network with colleagues across the company. One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship has been being appointed as the Deputy Lead of the Wellbeing Ambassador Network. A personal highlight was the Early Careers Christmas Social, where all of the networks worked together to organise a successful event and the Wellbeing Network's Christmas Gratitude Tree being a very successful initiative within this.

Additionally, I have enjoyed shadowing different teams, including MP Activewear and the global PR team, which has provided me with a broader understanding of THG’s marketing function.
