Mycon 2024 Cohort

Mycons, the original THG high performance programme, launched in October 2023 and is now in its third iteration.

The programme was designed not only to recognise outstanding performance in the division, but to also demonstrate the commitment we have in investing in the success of our people. Those selected for the programme gain access to exclusive learning and development opportunities, senior leadership masterclasses and mentoring and experiences aimed at accelerating their professional growth. We are excited to invite our third cohort to the programme!

So far, this year’s cohort has already embarked on an exciting journey. Kicking off with a launch event at the end of January at Hale Country Club, they met with the SLT for introductions, before getting in the competitive spirit with a game of Padel.

Since then, they have been able to spend time with Nutrition Division CEO, Neil Mistry, with the first of the SLT masterclasses, gaining first-hand insights about his experience at THG and Myprotein and they have taken part in three exclusive opportunities with the L&D team.

We still have so much in store for our third cohort. A major highlight, taking place in April, is the much-anticipated Away Day – a unique opportunity for participants to step back from their daily roles and focus on personal growth and collaboration. They will hear from professionals, lead on presentations and continue to learn in group discussions with the SLT and people team.

SLT Masterclasses will continue with the group, as each member of the Nutrition SLT will lead a bespoke Masterclass diving into their expert subjects and career history. These sessions have been popular with previous cohorts, providing invaluable insights into leadership and strategy and supporting our high performers to refine their skills and broaden their perspectives.

Mentoring remains a core element of the programme, ensuring that each participant benefits from guidance and support from senior leaders within the company. This experience enables the cohort to gain strategic insights, build influential relationships, and refine their leadership capabilities.

We worked closely with Tom Carey, Senior L&D Partner, to create a series of L&D workshops, all designed to support the growth and development of the Mycons at THG. Workshops include creating advance personal development plans, 360 feedback insight, building a personal brand and how to be a better leader, as well as regular PDP check ins to encourage progress. These exclusive and tailored sessions allow the cohort to embrace new ways of thinking and develop confidence to take on greater challenges.

Finally, in addition to formal learning sessions, the programme encourages a strong sense of peer support. The cohort will engage with each other through group discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions designed to enhance their understanding of the business and broaden their networks.

What makes the Mycon Programme special?

What truly sets this programme apart is its 360-approach. The combination of formal learning, senior mentorship, and peer collaboration, ensures that every participant is not only equipped with essential leadership skills but also empowered to make a meaningful impact within the business.

As this third cohort continues their journey, we look forward to seeing the progress they will make. Their dedication, drive, and passion for growth embody the spirit of the Mycon Programme, and we are excited to watch them shape the future of our business.
